Finding Form: Coil-Built Vessels with Giselle Hicks May 3 & 4th

$300.00
sold out

In this two-day workshop students will join Helena Montana based ceramic artist Giselle Hicks for 2 days of coiling and pinch pot techniques for building vessels. Students will meet from 10am-4pm Saturday and 10-3 on Sunday.

Coil and pinch is a fundamental ceramic process, so this workshop is excellent for beginners, intermediate, and advanced makers. The technique can be applied to both functional and sculptural forms. Giselle will discuss ways to achieve clear transitional edges, dramatic cantilevered planes, and full curves. Between demos, participants will have time to practice the technique with one-on-one guidance from Giselle.

Included in the cost of the class is the firing of 2 pieces made during the workshop that can be glazed for you by the studio using Giselles studio white.

Students are welcome to have their pieces bisque fired and can later pick up to glaze and fire in their own studios.
